There's a stark contrast in perception when women self-promote versus when men do the same. Data reveals that women often face negative biases for self-promotion, while men remain neutral. This presents a unique challenge for women. The solution?

Amplify other women!

That's our mission here. We champion each other, ensuring visibility and recognition. Our primary focus is on amplifying LinkedIn posts that highlight your professional milestones and requests.

How it works:

  1. Share your achievements on LinkedIn or Twitter.
  2. Forward the post link to our mailing list. Optional but helpful: Include a few comments people can cut and paste.
  3. Witness the AmplifyHer community elevate your accomplishments and expand your reach!

*The initial hour after posting is crucial. As part of the AmplifyHer community, it's essential to COMMENT within the first 1-2 hours to effectively boost the post.

Amplify-Her Principles:

1. Reciprocity is Key

Aim for a 1:5 ratio. For every post you wish to amplify, ensure you boost at least 5 posts from fellow members.

2. Engage, Don't Just Acknowledge

Beyond just "liking" a post, engage with meaningful comments and initiate discussions. Both LinkedIn and Twitter algorithms favor posts with higher engagement. So, comment, reply, and keep the conversation flowing!

3. Elevate, Don't Just Congratulate

Frame your comments to uplift. Instead of a simple "Congrats Amy on the new role," say "Kudos to <company> for securing a gem like Amy. She's truly exceptional." Tag relevant individuals who might find the post beneficial.

What to share?

There's no need to reply to all or notify the original poster of your amplification - they'll notice the engagement.

Final thoughts on what works: Keep it professional but add a personal touch. If you've contributed to a project or achievement, share your own angle about it. A good rule of thumb for posts that are great for AmplifyHer: Professional situation + your personal take on it.

AmplifyHer Community Guidelines

In addition to the Credo above, here are additional community guidelines. Notice that we don't have a "don't promote yourself" clause like almost all other communities. Because that's what we are about! But we do want to cultivate authentic relationships between accomplished professional women. And these guidelines help us stay to that purpose.

  • Members must use an email address that shows their First name, Last name instead of a brand name. We are cultivating a network of women who know each other as people, and this facilitates that purpose.
  • Members can only share posts from their own linkedin account for amplification. Do not share posts of others to be amplified. Members may invite and recommend others to join AmplifyHer so that those new members can share their own posts.
  • Members may not delegate their membership to an assistant or another person.
  • Moderators may remove members who are not following the Credo or guidelines.
